I had a terrific time being interviewed by the GlaszArt Photo Journal and talking about my photography for this article, "Around the World with Photographer Matt Conti."
In addition to the photo journal, Laura Ganz is a wonderful artist from Maine. She initially contacted me about my international travel images, included the ones shown below that appear in the article. The irony, of course, is that all travel was pretty much halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it was an enjoyable activity to reminisce about these experiences.
Of course, I could not help but talk about my hometown of Boston and how it led me to focus on cityscapes and urban scenes. We also delved into night photography as a special interest and dealing with unpredictable factors, such as weather. That was a great lead in to my Boston in the Snow series.
In discussing inspirations, I believe that having ongoing projects is important and I try to keep several going locally. One of the first that I continue today are festival photos from Italian feasts, primarily in the North End neighborhood.
