The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the 19th annual lighting of the park’s signature trellis.

Joining in the celebration were FOCCP President Joanne Hayes-Rines, State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz and at Large City Councilor Erin Murphy. Refreshments, holiday treats, and giveaways were provided by the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, Joe’s American Bar & Grill Waterfront, HP Hood LLC, Verizon Fios and Magic 106.7.

The annual kick-off to the holiday season brought entertainment by the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC), singer Sharon Zeffiro, singer Ackeem Hill, BPD Officer Stephen McNutty, and special guests Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Frosty. In addition, the  Postmaster of Boston unveiled the new US Postal Service holiday stamp.

Located at 110 Atlantic Avenue on Boston’s historic waterfront, Christopher Columbus Park gets transformed every year into a beautiful holiday display when the park’s 260 feet of the trellis are illuminated with 50,000 blue lights along with 14 decorated trees near Tia’s, the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, and throughout the park. Enjoy the display throughout the winter season until Patriot’s Day next year.
