Ein Karem
About 5 miles outside of Jerusalem is Ein Karem, home of St. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist where we visited the Church of the Visitation and the Church of St. John the Baptist. The "visitation" of Ein Karem is where Mary stopped to see Elizabeth. The place where Mary drank from is now referred to as Mary's Well. Many pilgrims come to drink this holy water today.
